Tracking Your Course Progress
The Activity Completion Tracking is a bookmarking tool that helps you track your course progress. Depending on each course item’s default settings, you will see two kinds of check boxes on the course homepage:
- Solid - Solid check boxes must be marked manually. All lesson pages have solid check boxes, which must be manually marked as you complete the reading. Some assignments, such as discussion forum postings, will also have solid check boxes. As you submit your forum postings or complete your reading, you can indicate completion by manually checking the corresponding boxes.
- Dotted - Most written assignments and quizzes have dotted check boxes, which are marked automatically once submission requirements are met for these assignments. A checkmark in a dotted box indicates successful submission of an assignment or quiz.
The Activity Completion check boxes help update your Completion Progress block, a color-coded progress bar typically located on the right-side pane of your course homepage. All weighted coursework, such as written assignments, quizzes, forums, and exams found in your course are represented in this bar.
As you complete your coursework, the corresponding boxes will change color to indicate completion. Green represents completed items, while navy represents items not yet completed. Simply scroll over these colored boxes to see assignment titles or whether an assignment has been completed. Additionally, you can see your completion percentage displayed directly below the progress bar.
Please note: If you are accessing your course via your school's Learning Management System (via Blackboard or Canvas), you may not have access to the Activity Completion check boxes or the Completion Progress block due to your instructor's unique setup.
